former trapnor and prospector,
and alleged slayer of Mr. and Mrs.
Albert Weddle, farmers, was
found today in a barn 12 miles
northeaat of here.
Hostetter was alleged to have
killed Mr. and Mrs. Weddle with a
shotgun the night of November 3,
because they opposed his Intend'
ed marriage to Mrs. May June
Hunter, 42, a coucin of Mrs. Weddle.
A bullet wound near the man's
heart indicated he had taken his
own life. Dr. C. E. Krlmmlnger,
deputy coroner, said the condition

G. Thompson, of Melrose, is report
ed to be Improving at the veterans'
hospital In Portland, after having
two finders amputated. He was ac
companied to Portland by his wife,
who returned to this city yesterday.
L. M. Allen, of Shedd, Oregon, is
taking care of the Thompson ranch
at Melrose. He Is the father of
Mrs. Thompson.
Wilt Arrive Here Next Week
According to word received here by
friends of Max Frledenthal. he will
be able to leave the Ran Francisco
hospital on January LI and return
lo this city for a short visit. Mr.
Frlodenthal was taken 111 at the
Hotel Lmpqua several weeks aco
and later removed to the Ttosebnrc
General hospital. When his condi
tion became much worse, he was
nlaced on the train and sent to
San Francisco. He has many
friends In this clly. His home Is In
Portland.
