Bert G. Rates, of Hollywood,
left Roseburg yesterday after
noon for Portland to attend to
business matters. He intends to
go to Klamath Falls to visit his
father, Ii. W. Hates, before return
ing to California. Mr. "Hates en
joyed several days in this city

Harris' Leave Roseburg
Mr. and Mrs. H. I). Harris, resi
dents of iioseburg for the past 14
years, left yesterday for their new
home in San Jose, California. Mr.
Harris Is an employe of the South
ern Pacific railway company. Roth
he and Mrs. Harris are very well
known here.
Leaves Today for East

home town In Missouri to spend

elected as one of the five students
from the university to be initiated
into an accounting fraternity on
the Eugene campus. Mr. Powers is
well known In Iioseburg, having
kept books for the Red Hall
Freight coniminy during the past
summer. His home is also in
Roseburg. He is a member of the
Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity.

Move to California
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Cacheltn,
of this city, have moved to Califor
nia and will make their home near
Pmismuir. Mr. Cachelin has accept
ed a position with the Richfield
Oil company. He formerly worked
as mechanic for the Ialo Stephens
garage of this city. Mrs. Cachelin
is also well .known here, having
been employed by the Palace of
Sweets and by the Terminal cafe.
Fractures Arm
Little Dale Carson, five-year-old
son of Mr. and Mrs. Dean G. Car
sou, of Remote, fell off a wood
shed on Armistice day and frac
tured his right arm. Ho was
brought to Roseburg for medical
aid.

Mr. and Mrs. Myron Hull, of
Weed. California, arrived in Rose
burg the first of the week to v'sit
friends and relatives for several

turned to this city. He left last Sat

Fulcher, but had the misfortune of
wrecking his car near Cottage
Grove. He was uninjured. Mrs. Ful
cher reports a fine vacation. She is
a nurse In Dr. E. Ii. Stewart's office.
