KUGKNK. Aug. 13 More tur
keys are being grown in l.aiie
ouuty Ihls year than last, accoiu-
ing to figures compiled by the
Lane county membership of the
Douglas County Turkey Growers'
association. About 300 more birds
will be marketed by the associa
tion this season than last, it is be
lieved. Last year 2ulo birds were
marketed with prospects this year
for a total of 2,3:.0.
A campaign to Increase member
ship, plans for representation and
attendance at the annual election
meeting of the Douglas County
Turkey Growers Cooperative asso
ciation Tuesday, Air..ust 13, and
plans for marketing turkeys this
fall, were discussed by the Lane
county group of the Douglas coun
ty organization at their meeting in
the chamber of commerce rooms
yesterday.
Charles Dear nt collage urove
was named to be nominated as a
member of the board of directors
of the Douglas cuuty group at the
annual election meeting. He was
also elected to serve as the official
representative of Lane county
members of the association at all
meetings of the beard of directors
providing he Is not elected to a di
rectorship. H. A. Htoneherg of Co
'nurg was named alternate repre
sentative. It was decided that the members
returning to their communities
make a concentrated effort to In
crease the membership of the or
ganization. Last year practically all the tur
keys of the association wore sold
to tbo Swift and Company plant
which marketed them in the east.
About Hi tier cent of the nation's
supply of turkeys nre grown on the
I'aclllc coast while but six per
cent of the mil Ion's population is
on the coast, which accounts for
the raet that thu birds are largely
marketed ill the east, said Mr.
Dear.
The lulvanlaces ot cooperative
nirkotlng were pointed out. To
market intelligently and thus pre
vent ginning thn market was given
as the leading advantage.

or six pound cans. Conveniently proportioned almost as wide as they are tall and as easy to
spoon from as an old-fashioned earthenware crock. '
And the design of the can is new too interesting and modern in blue and white almost
as appealing as Snowdrift itself. A convenient modern package for a convenient modem
shortening.
Tho creamy consistency of Snowdrift makes it very, very easy to work with. it mixes in' a
jiffy with just a few stirs of the spoon and is always ready to use never too hard when it come
from the refrigerator, never too 6oft when it has been standing in the kitchen.
Snowdrift makes so many good things to eat cakes, biscuits, muffins, pie crust. And for
delicate fried food there simply isn't any better frying fat than Snowdrift.
