Miss Ellow Mae Wilson, a for
mer resident of Itoseburg, now liv-
ing In Medford, won first place
among 13 women contestants iu
the Atwater Kent audition held
Saturday. Miss Wilson is not only
an excellent singer, but Is nlso a
violinist and whistler. She recent
ly won highest honors at the slate
high school music contest held at
Pacific university. During her resi
dence lu Itoseburg' she was a very
popular entertainer, and her many
friends here will doubtless be glad
to learn of her achievement in

AUTOS COLLIDE
Carl Murphy, local barber, re
ceived a badly cut hand in an auto
mobile accident Sunday. The
wreck occurred near the Shady
point crossing, when Murphy's car
was struc k by a machine belonging
to C. I'ilker of Medford. Pllker's
car skidded into the local man's
machine. None of the other occu
pants were hurt.
