The main event between Pat Pa dclford of .Med lord and Jack Nash m Portlaud, was one of the mean est tights ever seen in lio-sebiuK, bein a typical "bar-room" brawl. White much of the rancor bore earmarks of being simulated, yet it looked genuine to most ot the crowd and j;Ave the spectators a great deal of enjoyment. The boys used all the foul tac tics known to the boxing ring and, in fact, invented a few extra. Butting, gouging, kicking, low blows, holding and everything else in the category of fuut boxing, en tered into Hie match. In the first round Padelford but ted Nash in the lace and Nash promptly retaliated by biting. The next round more blows landed be low the belt than above, whh the two lighters hurting verbal taunts at each other and even descending to making laces at one another. Heads were used as much as fists and even knees ami feet were call ed into action.
