Th "You" Lamb
This story ts not about the gar
, den variety of "you" lamb.
Nor about such a one as the Pro
I Iihet described to David.
1 Nor even ilKt as the one at the
; Oklahoma state house.
This is about the Farmers Union
Like tim. of an ese-sucklnr doe
that buricH the shells.
This lamb joins about the time
success seems certain.
It mic.ht be better to say that he
"conuects up with the group.
' He doesn't become a part of It.
He always says "you."
"Whnt will YOU give me for my
wheat?
"What are YOU paying for
eggs?''
' I dont like the plan YOU follow
lu this."
"The other fellow offers more
than YOU do foV that.'-
This "you" lamb stands around
the edge and bleats "you, you."
He wants the whole flock to play I
wet nurse for his benefit. j
When the picking la good he ls
right there.
When things are wrong he
blnmjes "you." j
He likes to dicker with the
wolves In daylight and safety. j
But he Is strong for the shelter-1
lng fold when needed.
Maybe a little "wool" Is required'
to nay for safe shelter. 1
He wants it all taken off of
you." ,
He Is a cheerful sharer In bene-
fits.
But costs und adversltlos are for
"you."
There Is seldom more than ono
"you" lamb In a flock.
But he fnlrly gets the goat of all
the rest.
And thero Is no market for Mb
pelt. Kansas Union Farmer.
