The proposed road will cover a distance of 2 1.1 miles and follows a good grade over the mountains. Frank Lain, In charge -of the party, states that the road -can be constructed at a minimum of cost. The I'nlted States forest service Is now constructing a road In the section of the North Fork, which will coanect with the proposed road to Gardiner and allow an out let for the residents of Smith river. Already a section of the road ia completed from the falls of Smith river to Sulphur Springs, part of the way being completed.
