CHICAGO, Oct. 38. Spurred by
the arrival of the party standard

Tomorrow night in the 131st re-;

Repeated Ovations
Arriving in Chicago last night i
after an ail-day ride from Sedalla, i

noisy ovation by a throng that
crammed every available space in
the Union station train shed and
waiting room.
Once in their automobiles. th
governor and his part y were
whisked down Michigan boulevard
to the Congress hotel through an
other great crowd of cheering
welcomers. Torches, protruding
every ten or fifteen feet from
crevices in the sidewalks, lent a
splash of color to the scene.
Cpon reaching the hotd, the
nominee was treated to another
big demonstration and when he
finally reached bis suite on the
fifteenth floor, the shouting out
side was so intense that he cam
to a window three times to ack
nowledge the cheers.
Chicago's welcome to the New

Ot tfook Satisfies

of his chances in the fire and
southern and border states be had

"That you will carry all the
states you bare been through?"
the questioner pursued.
