standing races; the class A, and
C of the New York to Los Angeles
air derby, which finishes at Mines
Field September lvth, the San
Francisco to Los Angeles race
which finishes during the after
noon ot the following day; and the
non-stop flight from New York to
Los Angeles, which will be com
pleted on Thursday, the 13th.
The winning pilots of the above
races, are all expected to ajpear at
the microphone for accounts ot
their flights. During the progress
ot the derbies a continuous record
of the status of the planes at the
arious control points will also be
given.
While H is estimated that more
than one million people will wit
ness the races and exposition, at
least twice that number is the es
timate of those who will be en
abled to "hear" the history of com
mercial aviation in the making
during the next week, by means
oi the Union Oil broadcast.

the vicinity of Wellsboro, Pa., wit
nessed the event to jude the
