Separate flowerets, sprinkle with salt and. pepper, dip in batter prepared as follows: Mix salt with (lour. Combine cs, milk and welted Crisco. Stir liquid into dry ingredients. Heat until smooth. Dip each floweret into the batter and drop quickly into deep hot Crisco ($6o to ' 370 F., 'or when a small piece of bread browns in 60 seconds). Fry until brown.
