Pryor Intimated that Tunnoy's
announcement will be to the effect
that he has retired from the riiie
and will not again defond the title I
which ho won from Jack Dompsoy
on September 23, 1920, at Phila
delphia. Pryor said that the champion
was fully aware pf tho rumors and
reports that, ho would-retlro and
leave the heavyweight title open,
and that his announcement of next
week w(ll answer these reports.
The ' champion recently pur
chased a farmhouse and several
acres of land in Stamford and will
take occupancy when alterations
which he ordered are completed.
It is reported that he will open a
gymnasium on his property for the
training of boxers and will give

sult of the discovery of fivo cases
of malla fover, Iho first ever re
ported in the state of Oregon, at I
the state tuberculosis hospital
here, the slate health department
is now on the lookout for other
cases throughout' the state.
Cases of malla tever have ap
peared in a number of other stales
but the five cases at the tubercu
losis hospital are tho first defi
nitely diagnosed in Oregon. Five
suspected cases of tho disease,
which simulates both typhoid
fever and tuberculosis, have been
carefully watched at the tubercu
losis hospital for a number of
weeks and after investigation by
both county and state health de
partments wore actually . reported
