tions between Austria and Italy,
which only recently were reestab
lished, today appeared again pain
fully strained by reports of Indig
nation throughout Austria over
what Is regarded as un offensive
inscription ,on an Italian war mon
ument at Bolzano.
This monument, unveiled yester
day by King Victor Emmanuel In
commemoration of the Austrian
defeat of 1918, was reported In
the Austrian press to contain the
following inscription:
