The tents are In two groups located In small clearings on each side of wolf creek, and In front of the tents the boys have marked off streets and approaches hy using small boulders, and have filled in with moss, ferns, tdirubs, etc., making their guarters beaut I ful and attractive. They all stood by expectantly then, while the cover was removed from the barbecue pit. K. A. Hritton, the scout execu tive, had superintended the bathe cniug of n whole pig and n large piece of beef, and Included in the pit were two big kettles of beans and a couple of pans of "lovn betty." Tho visitors formed a "chow" lino and were served most gener ous helpings of tho delicious food. Tables had been spread In the can vas covered dining room, and these were decorated with potted terns and wild flowers. After the guests were seated they were served with hot coffee, cocoa and water by Bcouts as signed to that duty. Despite the fact that the boys had to wait for nearly two hours beyond their usual meal time until after tho guests wero served'; there was no disorder, no confus ion and no undue noise. Following tho most delicious meal, the club members, represent ing the Kiwanis, Itotary and Ac live clubs, returned to their games, while the scouts disposed of the "It-avin's," aftt-r which the boys lighted a huge bonfire, which had been , prepared earlier In the day. Around this fire an impromptu Proliant was given, which lasted until after 9 o'clock, when the vis Mors were escorted back 'to their cars by scouts who carried flash lights to light the pathway through the woods. CES T Additional Improvements at the Epworth League camp on Little River are to be started as soon as the institute now in progress is completed, the young people hav ing voted unanimously to raise ad ditional funds immediately to pro vide for extensions and additional equipment. The leagues from the various cities of the Southern Ore ion district are delighted with the camp thai has been donated to them by Roseburg people. They rind It one of the most attractive and perfect sites in the state and are very enthusiastic over the prospects for the future. A great deal has already been accomplishments, considering the short time in which the directors had to do their work. A kitchen and mess hall have been built In a most substantial manner and will serve the camp for many years to come. The work of enclosing this structure will be completed at once, and the roof will also be ex tended over an additional Bectlon of the mess hall where canvas is now used for shelter. Arrangements are also being made to pipe running water to the kitchen. At present the water from Little River, is used for cooking nilrnnui.il mi,l L-;it..t lu fin-rlix! from a small creek for drinking. it I Is planned to pipe the water for ! the camp either from the creek or I from a small spring. A large space has been cleared ! for the auditorium, which is a large tent where a platform has been erected and benches built to accommodate two or three hundred persons. Iii'the way of recreation the camp offers two fine swimming holes, two volley ball courts, n court for horseshoes, and there Is, ample room for tennis courts, base ball diamond, etc. Several of the groups plan to erect permanent quarters in the form of cottage dormitories. The directors will give permission for the construction of these build ings, but will reserve the right to designate the location and all buildings must be built In accord ance with uniform plans. A crew Is to return to the camp the first of August and will com plete the work of clearing and cleaning the grounds and extend ing the buildings. During the winter months the several leagues are planning to raise additional funds so that more Improvements can be made before the camp opens next year. There are nearly 150 now regis tered at the camp, and it is ex pected that there will bo double this number in . attendance next year. The program is following the schedule previously announced and tho young people aTe finding the work and study very Interesting.
