Vanduser, of tho, highway commis sion: "We're not taking on any more now work we're through." All contracts now being hand led by the commission were order ed months ago, before a proposed ?3 auto license fee movement was started. THhe commission will begin con demnation proceedings for some eight acres of land south of the river at Yuchats on Roosevelt highway. The state needs a park there, and wanted to buy lots on the beach north of the river. The property Is owned 'by an English company, and the lots are assessed at $25 each but the company de manded $218 a lot for 27 of them. This was refused. The request of Springfield for the state to Install the electric wiring on the new Springfield bridge was denied. The state will construct conducts for wiring, but will not do any more. Springfield ofrernd to pay for the juice need ed for lighting. County Judge Beltis of Tilla mook asked for a speedy settle ment on the proposed bridge over the Trask river on the Roosevelt highway.
