Good Health of Hickman Headlines Inform us that "the Fox wins point in last appeal." Have you forgotten the Identity ot this "Fox?" He Is called Hickman, and his crime was the most revolt ing murder ever known In America. His crime was committed months ago. He was captured soon after ward and, despite the law's pre liminary delays, was tried, con victed and sentenced to hang. The day set for his execution passed some time ago. It Is manifest that he lives, although his life Is for feit. We know little about these le gal quibbling and care less. They are lawyers who quibble, and they were lawyers who wrote most of the laws. Lawyers, too, sit upon the judicial benches. It some thing Is wrong with the law we av erage persons, who ask only that Justice be done, are to be for given for concluding that some thing Is amiss with lawyers. It Isn't an explanation that we want. We do not Insist upon a learned lecture that tells us why justice cannot be done. All that we ask for Is justice reasonably quick and not too lnfrequentaly certain. Is it too miirh fn noir nf law yers? Portland Oregonlan. HOOVER GOES FISHING W1LLIAMSPORT, Pa., May 14.
