PITTSBURGH, April 7. In an
affidavit filed in federal court hero
today, William J. Simmons, for
mer head of the Ku Klux Klan, al
leged that nn nttempt had been
made to assassinate him while he
was chief of the order. The affi
davit. was filed In behalf of five
former members of the klan who
seek a receivership f6r the order
in Pennsylvania. In a counter suit,
joined from Interfering with It. ,

Explaining his resignation from
the klan, Simmons-said he . could

tion." "Figuratively speaking, my child,
the Klan, had been kidnaped,
raped and ravished.
