The scout's motto is "lie Pro pared." The radio, newspapers ami magazines give many inci dents of service rendered by the Scouts in time ot emerseucy or calamity. Their service in many Instances could bo duplicated by no other organization, and they stand alone In the peculiar ser vice they are able to render a com munity. ' The Roseburg scouts have reached an average stage of ad vancement and are prepared, as individuals, to render service in auy emergency. However, they have never be on tried out us troop units. While it Is not expected that Roseburg will be visited with any calamity necessitating the eaihi-K of the scoutB into service, yet such an emergency might arise at any time, and it Is for the purpose ot testing out the ability of the troops to mobilize and orsanize for emer gency service that the test Is to bo conducted. The BcoutmasterH are giving no information to the moinbers or their troops, but will suddenly send out notice for Immediate mobilization and very soon t here after it is expected that Scouts will be seen going at a tuti pau for the place of assembly. This mobilization is strictly a part of the Boy Scout program and has no relationship to the army or national guard, which frequently conduct somewhat similar tests.
