Saturday night Included city olil
ciais, heads of civic, commercial
and professional organization and
many prominent business men. The
entire sales force of the C- A. Lock
wood Motor company was kept
busy throughout the day and eve

of this new car, which Henry
tt'ord himself has described as be
ing "superior in design and per
formance to any now available In
the low price, light cur field."
Even before the display rooms
wore opened at 8 a. m., there was
a line of visitors on hand to be the
first to get the story of the new
cars. On all sides were heard
comments ot surprise at the strik
ing change in the appearance of the
new Ford line. The low rakish
linos, the striking new colors and
the luxurious equipment of these
I new automobiles, made a marked
Impression upon the crowds of visitors.
Even more impressive to the vis
itors, however, were the details of
performance as they were unfold
ed by attendants. Visitors were
narticularly struck with tne speeu,
pick-up and ease ot handling of the
now cars, and witu tne tact mat
they are equipped with four-wheel
brakes, shock absorbers and stand
ard gear shift transmission ot the
type used in cars in a niucn niguer
price class.
Attendants at the display rooms
were Overwhelmed with requsota

come.
For factories at Detroit and
branch plants in other seotlons of
the country are now preparing lor
capacity production and it is ex
pected that all dealers will be able

The design of the new line Is
so distinctly different from that of
the model "T" that the Detroit fac
tory and branch plants have hnd
to undergo a complete equlpmont
change to produce the new car.s,
It la expected, howovor, that Hie
next few weeks will Bee all former
Ford production records brokon.
in the meantime Henry Ford has
announced that mauutacturo of re
placement parts for model "T"
Ford cars ill continue to be an Im
portant part of the Ford business.
It Is estimated that there are still
more than nlno million model "T"
Ford cars in oporallou and the
