( Awoclatf-d Pr? IszteH Wire)
LOS ANGF:LKS. Cal., Oct 21.

his fnther. He further charged
that his wife, had refused to live
with him after December 1, 1925-
A former governess of the three
Bryan daughters ftaid that "Mrs.
Bryan felt that her musical edu

household duties.' . i
The custody of the three daugh

SUES FOR LOSS
OF WIFE'S ASHES
CHICAGO, Oct. 20. Damages of
$100.uu0 for the loss of the ashes
of his wife were asked today In a
suit filed in superior court by Arie
Mundelson, Oiuah a, NebraV,u,
against tiie Oak Woods Cemetery
association here.
Monde son claims he told the as
sociation to hold the ashes until
he gave further orders for their
disposal, but last April his broth
er-in-law, Martin Morris, Clinton-
Iowa, wrote to the association and
asked that the ashes bo sent to
umi. This was done.
The husband claims the ashes
are his property, and that he is
asking damages for their loss in
place of a replevin suit for fear
the ashes might be mixed and he
would not get those of his wife.

WASHINGTON, Oct. 21. (NEA)
How short may a lady wear her
skirt before the law rightly inter
feres? More Important, how much knee
must the Hkirt cover when the
lady Bits down? ,
These questions, which have so
sorely perplexed authorities on
Rood order and hoc! til etiquette,
have been answered fearlessly and
confidently by I'atrolinaii J. U,
Lawlor of the Washington Park
Police.
Patrolman Lawlor's beat is In
Lafayette Park, directly across the
street from the White House.
It's Very Simple
"A policeman," announced Pa
trolman Lawlor, "should interfere
when the shortness of the lady's
skirt causes a commotion :nnd
not before."
Already the sapient Lawlor, who
is just a young fellow and not the
hoary and learned sage one might
expect, has been endorsed In his
stand by Col. U. R. (Irnnt W, the
Patrolman Lawlor and pretty lit
tie Mrs. Keller. She wears the
skirt that caused the commotion
and therefore was too short, as
Patrolman Lawlor saw It.

when Luwlur ciiuiu ulung and told
Keller to "tell that woman to pull'
her dress down." The Kellers
promptly defied arrest, but wero
not arrested. Grant promptly ex

course.
He's No Reformer
"They seem to think I belong to
some reform society," Lawlor said
