Demurrer Sustained
A demurrer was sustained for
judge Hamilton in the case of the
Inland Construction company
against the Winchester Bay com
pany. The suit was one in which
the plaintiff company was seeking
to forclose a lien for dredging.
.The court found that the property
concerned was a dedicated street.
Indictment to Stand
The demurrer filed by H. S.
and V. S. French to the indictment
brought against them recently in
the. Circuit Court was overrulled
by Judge Hamilton today. The
two defendants, members of the
French Transfer company, were in
dicted on a charge of operating
freight trucks outside of the city
limits without the necessary certi
ficate from the Public Service
Commission.

two operations, one at Kelso,
Washington, several weeks ago.
His condition did not Improve and
it was neceBsary to operate a sec
ond time In Portland. He had been
III since last January. He was born
at Coffeeville, Kansas and was 34
years old May 29. Mr. Graham
lived at one time at Suthcrlln and
Is well known in that city as well
as Roseburg. Besides his wife, he
is survived by two daughters, Doris
and Dona Graham, by a former
marriage. The funeral is to be
held Thursday In San Diego.

leged slayer, at Winnipeg, as the
man wanted here under the name
of Adrian Harris, as slayer of
women, was mode today by Rus
sell Gordon, a grocery clery, po
lice announced. The photograph
of the Winnipeg prisoner was re
ceived today by Portland police
who Immediately submitted It to
Gordon In a batch of pictures
picked at random from police files.
Gordon Immediately recognized
the picture of Nelson, alias Harris,
alias Ferrell, said detectives.
Two detectives left today for
Salem to submit the Winnipeg
pictures to a women who formerly
lived here, and who knew Adrian
Harris.
