GEO. HOLTSM
George Holtsclaw, who has been
held In the county jail for the
past week on a charge of unlaw
ful possession or a mill, was to
day arrralgned on another count,
unlawful possession of maun. The
new charge was filed at a time
when Holtsclaw's parents bad
succeeded In raising $1,000 In the
form of bonds to aecure bis re
lease from custody on the first
eharirA. Ills hnnri nn thn inml
g count bave been fixed at $1,500
making iz.&uu that will be neces
sary to secure his release before
the grand Jury meets.
The young man's arrest came
after officers located a still near
Olendale and accused Holtsclaw
and a companion of ownership.
Holtsclaw is also suspected by
many of being implicated in the
attack and attempted robbery of
William Drown last summer, and
gj the officers are investigating that
S charge. The filing of the aecond
g! case against him at the time he
B? was about to furnish bonds.
would indicate possibly that the
gi oflcera are determined to keep
him in custody until the grand
Jury can investigate his case.

Children scream
when they play in the dark
That's something for parents
to think about and think
seriously.
Dark rooms are peopled with
fearsome ghosts. Real ghosts!
Dark corners are hiding places
for shadowy apparitions.
They're real- to any normal
child.
Switch on the lights!
Banish these spectres of the
dark. Electricity is plentiful,
and so reasonable, here in our .
town, that no one need count
the cost of a cheery, well
lighted home where children
: love to play.
Electricity
is the cheapest service
you can buy.
