Federal Judge John C. Pollock
today refused a motion for a new
trial for Vuco Perovich, Moatene
gran nobleman, who has served 20
yeais of a life sentence In the fed
eral prliion at Leavenworth. He al
so refused to permit Perovich to
be sent hack to Alaska to hang.
Perovich was released November
7 under personal bond of (1,000 on
a writ of babeas corpus.
In 1904 be was found guilty In
Ihe United States district court in
Alaska of murdering a miner in
an Alaskan village and was sent-
enced to death. The case was ap-1
