cross state line and a line extend
ing southerly from Bend to Lake

sion in Ita complaint and as recom
mended by the examiner In hla re
port to the interstate Commerce
Commission.
"The proposals of the Oregon
Trunk does meet a prime transpor
tation requirement in" that It furn

central Oregon territory, provides

the lines proposed, the Oregon

assets of the defunct Institution
were ordered accepted.
The assets consist ot the house
and lot of Percy H. Ball, former
president and cashier, whose sen
tence of ten yarn in the state pri
son, was recently reduced by Gov
ernor Pierce, followed by a-parole,
and collectible notes.
.Walter Zimmerman 'bid 3500 for
the house and lot, which Is encum
bered by a mortgage for $1700, held
by the Jackson County Loan asso
ciation, and ' Albert Pankey bid
3300 for the notes. Both bidders
live in Gold Hill, and the blda of
both were accepted.
The remaining assets consists of
land, listed In the bank superin
tendent's report "as not worth
paying taxes on," and notes upon
which little if any money could be
realized.
In the case of Percy H. Bell
against the Ancient River Gold
Mining Corporation asking for the
appointment of a receiver for the
mine, to protect stockholders, for
which the Gold Hill bank acted as
trustee, the court granted the plea
and named C. M, Reed ot Gold Hill
as receiver.

The report estimates that 3.000
Catholic Chaldeans have been de
ported from the Mosul Turkish
frontier. It accuses the Turks of
violating and slaying Christian wo
men. All Christians were deported
from the village ot Merga. north of
the provisional line which was
fixed at the Brussels conference
pending definite demarcation of
the frontier.
Five aged women who were un
able to keep up with the marching
columns are declared to have been
burled alive under piles ot atones
and left to their fate.
According to Christians who es
caped, those remaining in the Tur
kish concentration camps are not
supplied with food by their cantors
and are forced to live on acorns.
At Jaljo alone, the report says, 40
men were shot down in cold ntoon.
During the marches from other vil
lages, the deportees were given no
food for 10 days and those falling
by the wayside were Immediately
killed bv the soldier, who used
their bayonets and rifle butts.
Soviet Shuns Locarno Pact
- PARIS. Dec. 15. Foreign Minis
ter Trhltrherln of Soviet Russia,

Locarno security peace pact, aa
"preparation for a rruaade against
the" Soviet republic," he told the
press today.
Asked what the Soviet's altitude
would be toward a posalble l.ocar

minister replied that he did not

Chagour quarter of Pamasrus, do

The Druse attack began at S
o'clock and a fierce battle waa
fought through the night. The
principal damage was done In the
Chagour and Salcye quarters.
