"Little Bird Told Me"
In enr'y days superstitious people
paid conslilernble attention to the
birds and their different cries which
were believed to foretell events.
Thus comes the old auyinic. "A little
bird told me," suys the Loudon
Dully Mull.
Truces of tills belief are to be
found In our own Old Testament,
wlere verso 'Jt of clmpler 10 of
KcrleHluKte speaks of "for a bird
of the sir shall carry the voice, ami
Hint which hath wines shall till the
waller." It Is generally agreed that
it Is from this belief In the univer
sal knowledge of birds which, of
course, are supposed to see every
thing from the sky that we gut
this suylng.
