During the sessions three of the
district vice presidents, A. S. Rob

and H. K. Hallgren of Portland had
a part in the popular evening meet
ings. Mr. Tobias reports that the
Chamber of Commerce and the
people of The Dalles were very cor

drives to the points of interest
around about the city. On Saturday
. afternoon the missionaries went in
a body to Fall Bridge, Wash., and
there dedicated a new chapel build
ing which has grown out of the
work of the American Sunday
school union w-ork.
In the closing days of the con

very favorable way aa the meeting

Commlttoe chairmen have been
appointed by the Roseburg Cham
ber of Commerce to head commit
tees on mining, fishing and lum
bering. These committees will
formulate reports to be presented
at the agricultural economic con
ference, which will start on No
vember 18. Reports are to be
made on the various phases of the
agricultural situation, each com
mercial crop being treated inde
pendently, while a general survey
of market conditions will also be in
cluded. The conference has as Its
purpose an Inventory of the coun
ty's resources, for the purpose of
determining the program for fu
ture development, and It was
thought that such a survey would
not be complete without reports on
the mining, fishing and lumbering
activities. As these are outside the
field of the agricultural organisa
tion, the Chamber of Commerce
was asked to take charge of the
task of obtaining these reports.
Earl Josburgh was appointed chair
man of the committee on mines,
Edward Kohlhagen was made
chairman of the committee on fish
ing and W. A. Bogard will direct
the committee on lumbering. These
chairmen will select their own as
sistants and formulate reports
prior to the opening of the con
ference. Men's suits cutanea ana pressed.
