ASSOCIATION
MEETING TODAY
! The regular monthly luncheon
and business meeting of the Hose
burg Music Teacher's 'association
was held this noon at the homo of
Mrs. Fred Strang, with a good at
tendance. Following luncheon, prepared
and served by a committee of mem
bers, the business meeting was
opened, and a number of Important
Items taken up. O. V. Cook, corre
sponding secretary of the organisa
tion, and chairman of the benefit
dance held October 16 at the arm
ory, for the Douglas County Con
cert band, made a report on Ihe
tickets left unsold and expendi
tures and outstanding bills
contracted from' the dance.
There was a discussion of tbe
tax to be paid the internal
revenue office for the holding of
the dance and the president In
structed Mr. Cook to write to the
I'nlted States Internal revenue of
fice In Portland for blanks to fill
out for the payment of. the tnx.
About J120 was taken in at the
dance and It Is thought following
the payment of outstanding bills,
there will be a good sum to turn
over to the band. Thero was some
; discussion as to adopting a plan In
anniHunK me nana Financially, Dut
the association thought It best to
wait until the first election before
a definite decision was made.
The Important event before the
association next spring is the state
convention, to be held here two
days In May, the dates as yet. not
i decided. At the time is was decided
to hold the convention here, C. 8.
I Helnllne interviewed the heads of
Uhe various booster organizations,
j asking their cooperation in putting
: on the convention. Mrs. Fred
! Strang, president of the association,
; suggested that the head of each
; booster organization be asked to
'attend the next luncheon and busl
iness meeting, to be held at the
! home of Mrs. A. J. Young, Novem
i ber 30. At this time they will be
made acquainted with facts con
cerning the convention, and the as
sociation will enllat their aid In
making the convention a successful
one.

BOLLENBAUGH INJURED
Alfred Ttolleiiliauah. a resident
of Kiddle, had the misfortune to
fnlt and fracture his hip yesterday.
Mr. Ilollenbaiich was quite III at
the Vounty hospital for several
months during the summer and
was only recently discharged. Re
turning to Riddle he has been, cm
ployed In that vicinity until yester
day when he fel from a ladder
with the result that his hip was
broken. As he is 117 years of age
his injury is very serious, lie has
been brought bii.-k lo the county
hospital whero he will be cared for.
