will lie revived In Roseburg next
year, sponsored by the Itoxehurg
Woman's club, which yesterday
signed tho contract and guaran
tee to bring the series of pro
grams to this city. The com
pany was represented by Mr. and
Mrs. H. n. Sterling who present
ed a much better offer than has
ever been made previously by the
Chautauqua concern. The terms
which were agreed upon will en
able the club women to receive
some remuneration, providing
tho residents of the city cooper
ate as usual In the purchase of
admleslon tickets.
Th series of entertainments
will be brought here during June
or July, the date being uncer
tain. A six-day Chautauqua will
be given, but the talent will be
the same as offered on the reg
ular 7-day circuit.
In the event on program falls
on Sunday. It will be held in con
nection with a union church ser
vice and will be open to the gen
eral public.

drive shaft to get a can of oil his

bruising the leg. He waa brought
to this city and Ma Injuries at

continuance of the office of rural
school supervisor Is shown in
survey recently made of the dis
trict of the county. The law pro
vide that petition for or against
the office must come from the dis
trict but aa yet no move his been
taken to discontinue the office, al
though sentiment appears to be
