her home there. News of her death
comes as a shock to her many
friends In Koseburg. Before her
marriage to Mathew Sargent, she
was Miss Pauline Wlnningharo,
was born and raised In Coos county
and following her marriage, seven
; years a to, she moved to HoseburK.

years. Last spring Mr. and Mrs.
Sargent moved to Tillamook, since
that time making their home at
that place. She was twenty-three
years old at the time of death. Be
sides her husband, and three chil
dren, I. vie, aged 6; Ruby, aged 4,
and Goldle. aged 2 years, she leaves
a number of relatives In this city,
snd many friends In Coos county,
Ruseburv and Tillamook. Ik.tjiil.

engines of the ship furnished a
'possible contributing factor to the
disaster was more In the nature of
an assumption than a statement of
fact. .
I In his testimony yesterday, Col
onel Hall expressed the opinion
that the failure of two of the air
ship's five engines made more pro
bable the drawing of the big craft
Into the vortex of the storm which
wrecked her after a spectacular
flight of fifteen minutes. One ea
gine went out because of a cracked
cylinder and the other because' of
a radiator leakage.
An opinion that the reported fail
ures of the engines of the Shenan
doah were minor In character and
not a contributing cause to the dis
aster was given hy S. S. Hallibur
ton, chl-f machinist's mate and as
sistant engineer officers of the
ship. :

The Sovereign grand lodne of the
Independent Order of Odd Fel
lows, in annual convention here,
today voted to postpone Indefin
itely action on a recommendation
from Carl F. 8. Glasgow, grand
sire or Australia, that the Maoris
of New Zealand be declared elig
ible to membership In the order.
Glasgow urged recognition of
the Maoris, but H. W. Borst, past
grand sire, and others opposed It,
contending that such recognition
at this time would open endless
avenues for difficulty with the
race and color question la the
United States.
The convention of Rebekah as
semblies endorsed a plan for
establishment of an educational
loan fund to aid sons and daugh
ters of Rebekahs and Odd Fel
lows In obtaining any sort of
educational training they may de
sire. Miss Flora Sheets. Chicago.
is chairman of a committee ap
pointed to work out details of the
plan. Other members are Rose
