CHARGED AGAINST
Mrs. Lena Stoble, and her hus
band. Floyd Stoble, both residents
of Camas Valley, were sentenced
on two counts each for violations
of tbe gsme laws In the Justice
Court yesterday afternoon. Mrs.
Stoble waa fined $75 for dl.'K us
ing the sex of a deer and 950 for
having an untagged deer in her
possession. Her husband was
fined fii for acting as a guide
without a permit and 150 for
wanton waste of game.
Tbe couple was apprehended by
Deputy Game Wardens A. M. Fish
and Charles H. MoClees of Coos
County and C. A. Herring, special
deputy from Portland.
Mrs. Stoble, who Is known as
one of the best hunters of tho
county, had killed three deer, ac
cording to the officers, two of
the animals being fine bucks, and
the other of disguised aex.
The deputy claims that be f mnd
the disguised deer In a seek bid
den about 75 feet from the c.mp.
the shoulders and hams being
rounded out. and nothing to In
dicate the sex of the animal.
Mr. Stoble Is accused to have
packed a party into the woods
and to hav i acted as guide, with
out first procuring a permit as

all charges and paid the fines as
sessed against them.

Mr. Gunny married Hiss Jane
Fisher of Olalla, on January 1st,
1874. To this , union was born
nine children, six of whom are
living J. M. Gurney, of Bandon:
G. N. Gurney, of Mllwood: Mrs.
Rowana Snyder, of Myrtle Point;
T. F. Gurney, of Reedsport; Mrs.
R. E. Baldwin, of Reedsport: Mrs.
Martha Mast, of Myrtle Point.
Two children died In Infancy,
their names being Mary E. and
Ruth. Laura J. died at the age
of 12.
In June, 1902, Mr. Gurney and
family moved to Coo county, and
resided there until he came to
viBtt his sister at Millwood In
June of the present year.
Mr. Gurney was taken 111 while
at the home of his sister, and
after a short confinement to his
bed died on August 28th. He Is
survived by his wife, who is at
Myrtle Point, and by two brothers
and a sister S. A. Gurney and
J. W. Gurney, of Ten Mile, and
Mrs. Margaret Robinson, of Mill
wood. I Funeral service was held at Ten
Mile on Sunday, August 30th,
conducted by Rev. George T. Trl
ites, of Butherlin. Interment was
In the Ten Mile cemetery.
