A remarkable feature of the run
was that a trained endurance driv

KanBaa City when his home state

the run was made In record time

Built Construction
Make Studebakcrs Bargains in Quality .
BECAUSE Studebaker builds for Studcbaher
cars all bodies, sll engines, all axles,
dutches, differentials, steering gear, springs, gear
sets, gray iron castings and drop forging it i
possible to give purchasers two advantages:
1. A pWc oilmntagei Because Studebaker
eliminate extra profits which all other manu
facturer (except Ford) must pay to outside
parts or body makers. Thus Studebaker is able
to use steel of extra toughness, fine northern
whit ash and hard maple, wool upholstery, plate
glass, painstaking workmanship to precision
standards, and extra equipment, such as gaso
line gauge, clock, stop light, etc. yet charge no
more than competing car.
2. A construction advantage! . Because all parts
are not only designed to constitute one har
monious unit, bnt are Unit-Built in Studebaker
plant. Being built as a unit, every Studebaker
functions as a unit. Thl result in years longer
life, scores of thousands of miles of excess trans
portation, greater riding comfort, minimum re
pair cost and, finally, higher resale value.
The net of it is thlst the one-profit Studebaker
with its unlt-builr construction
offers yon a bargain in quality.
Ther are other In our gen
eral price field who also build

that are at all comparable their

Others, who once built quality cars, have!
made material sacrifice in order to secure super

value for the man or woman who wants that
kind of a car. But if he wants a bargain in quality
there is only one answer Studebaker.
Consider, for instance, the Standard Six Coach,
illustrated above. It has wool upholstering;
plate glass; fine trim to hide all tackst heavy,
ornamental hardware; clock) gasoline gauge on
dash; automatic windshield cleaner; stop light!
locks on ignition; steering gear, door and pars
tire carrier all operated by a amgle ky.
Slam the door and the sound cays "quality."'
Swing on the door. Run' one wheel up on the
curb and note how the door still open and
close. Sit on the firm; heavy fenders. Try the
steerlpg gear.- See how easily it handles the full,
aixe balloon tiro. Test the comfort of the deep
rear seat. Its genuine wool upholstery coverav
two layer of washed, quilted cotton, one layer
of genuine curled hair and-extra long springs
closely held together by small coil springs.

Not all motor troubles are avoid
able, but serious damage to any
automobile engine may absolutely
be averted by the observance, on
the part of the sane motorist, of
two very simple rules: First, to
give the car more-than-casual in
spection, each morning, before set
ting out; second, to heed the ad
vice of the motometer which Is
placed on the radiator cap, not tor
ornament, but specifically as an
advance warning to motorists
when Borne sort of trouble Is stew
ing. This device will' not tell the
driver what la wrong that is up
to him to discover when he gets
the danger signal but it will tell
him, in plenty of time, that some
thing 1 wrong.
Incidentally,- here is 1- list of
possible trouble the motorist
should look for .a the case of both
the early morning inspection and
after he has received warning ot
trouble while on the road: Radia
tor leak, broken water pump,-rotting
of rubber hose connections,,
choked water passages, cylinder
friction, loose oil pipe conneolioa,
clogged strainer, broken oil pump,
worn piston rings .driving with re
tarded spark, improper timing,, im
proper carburetor adjustment,,
broken fan belt and cloggod muffler.
