CHANGE GOVERNING KICK-OFF
KANSAS CITV. Aug. 25. Fifty
boys, members of the Los Ange
les Boys Chorus, are ' stranded
here. Three weeks ago the
chorus, made up of boys rang
ing from 8 to 22 -years of age,
set out from Los Angeles on a
cross-country concert tour. De
falcations of advance agents for
the tour are said to be respons
ible for the financial plight of the
chorus.
Two weeks ago, in Albuquer
que, N. M., an advance agent fled
with $150 proceeds from coo
certs. Two new agents were
hired. They disappeared from
Kansas City, together with funds
advanced them for expenses.
A two-night concert had been
scheduled for Kansas City, but
when the chorus arrived it was
learned the advance agents had
departed without making arrange
ments for the concerts. The
chorus is directed by Dr. H. E. K.
Whitney, formerly pastor of the
Hllyard Congregational church,
Spokane, Wash.
Financial relief may come to
night, however, for the Indepen
dence avenue Christian church,
one of the largest in the city, is
to stage a concert by the organization.
