Portland, shipments of lumber to
domestic ports for the first bIx
months of 1925 show an increase of
41,5lil,0un feet while exports show
a decrease of 59,532.000 feet, mak
ing a total decrease of 15.o00.oo0
feet However when It Is consid
ered that during the first three
months of 1924 lumber exports
from Portland amounted to 119,

ier shipments to Japan due to the
Japanese earthquake which unusual
market was not available this year,
the decrease in exports can easily
be explained. The amount of de-
