Never Before
a Value Like This
The Super-Six principle,
exclusive to Hudson and
Essex, is responsible for
the largest selling 6-cyl-inder
cars in the world,
because it gives results
in smooth, brilliant ac
tion, reliability and econ
omy never attained by
any other type. .
This Essex, in all ways,
is the finest ever built.
Easier riding and driv
ing, more flexible in per
formance, handsomer in
line and finish, it is also
lower in price than ever
before. Its success is sim
ply the belief of buyers
that it represents the ut
most automobile value
and satisfaction within
hundreds of dollars of
the price; and it proceeds
entirely from what
owners themselves say
of Essex.

CHRYSLER FOUR TO '
REPLACE MAXWELL
Chrysler today announces a new
four-cylinder line. Id response to
a public demand for another car
bearing tbli name v.lnh has be
come recognized an one of tho
most distinguished in the motor
car Industry.
The new Chrysler Kour, orfercd
In touring cur, club coupe, coach
and four-door body sedan styles,
priced from $8.0.'. to f 1095, f. o.
o. Detroit, is built for the bene
fit of the thousands who desire
in a four-cylinder car the same
comparative superiorities embodied-in
the Chrysler Hlx.
This new car ts the product of
the same engineers and manufac
turing executives who, iu the
Chrysler Six, revolutionized motor
car design and construction.
"The new Chrysler Four Is the
outgrowth of research, design and
test which first reuulted in tho
conception of the Chrysler Six",
is the comment of Walter 1.
Chrysler, head of this organi
zation who has become one oi the
dominant personalities in the au
tomotive Held, ou his newest
achievement. "Adaptation of the ;
results achieved In the Six to our
tour-cylinder model has been go- j
ing on since the appearance of the :
Six.'
bets Ilccord for Power iH-vclop-ment,
According to the S. A. K. for
mula, tlve horsepower of the new
Four Is 21.03. It actually de
livers 38.6. Uniform tuel distri
bution to all cylinders, complete
combustion, perfect valve action,
highly efficient operating tem
perature, ample capacity of cool
ing system and generous water
Jacketing of cylinder walls and
valve ports are factors thut make
this noticeable general efllcleiicy
possible.
'You can drive thbj car air day
under heavy load or at top, speed
and the engine wilt not overheat
or loose power," Mr. Chrysler con
tinue. Engine lubrication Is by posi
tive, full-force feed,. endlug a
continuous flow of oil under pres
sure to all main bearings and,
through drilled pannages In the
cranktthaft, to all connecting rod j
bearings.
Itemnrkiihly Free from Vibration, i
The entire car is called remark
ably free from vibration. Lliml- j
nation of it is due to bulunrltitf
all rotating and reciprocating
parts that revolve such as crank
shaft, clutch hub and flywheel; '
and matching of connecting rod 1
and piston asemblUyj to the frac
of an ounce.
"Hut the engineers have not
stopped there In disposing of vi
bration," Mr. Chrysler continues.
' One of the most unusual fea- j
tunes Is the method by which the
engine Is Isolated from the frame
to prevent the disturbances of
road Irregularities from being
transmitted to It through the
chassis. The engine front end Is!
mounted on a floating platform
ftpriug. Its usual rigid bolting to
the chassis frame at the front end
is entirely lacking. Fastenings of
the rear engine arms to the chas
xls have rubber hushing and pads
Interposed, eliminating the de
structive contact of metal with
metal. Thus the "engine Is liter
ally cushioned on rubber at that
point. Tho combination or these
two unusunl prtctices means com
plete Insulation Rgatnst vibration
in the chassis frame."
This Ingenious arrangement; Mr.
Chrysler says, gives no opportun
ity for rumble or tremor to reach
tire body of the car or Its occu
pants. It promotes an unmistak
able smoothness to engine and
uesticn: why is
it that there are
more than a million
Buicks in use today?
mSWer: Because Buicks arc
; always popular with new car buyers
; and also because Buick's dependable
: construction results in a much longer
: life for Buicks than is ordinarily the
rspan of service of a motor car.
