For many years fish culturlsts
have adhered to the belief that sal-
mon will return to fresh water in
four years, but definite Informa
tion has been gleaned to conlro-

Likewise It has been a funda
mental idea that when salmon re-
turn to fresh water, they spawn
and llu-n die. never returning to
the ocean. Hut this belief also ap-
I pears to be destined to go by the

sons, daughters, fathers or brothers
who emigrated to America.
Previous to the world war, an

been reached since, the remit
tances gradually are assuming
their pre-war level. Last month,
