Alex Gerlach, known to the
police as "inch and a quarter
Jimmy" was sentenced by
Judge Morrow this afternoon
to serve ten years in state
v prison following a plea from
not guilty to guilty.
His attorney. A. P. Knight,
asked for parole, but Judge
Morrow hastily rejected It
with this statement:
"If this man Is entitled to
a parole, then there la no use
arresting any criminal or
maintaining any prisons".
"Inch and a quarter Jimmy"
was charged with robbing 150
east side homes last winter
and was shot .when he was
captured.
