The business interests of Suther
lin were keenly alive to the ad van
tag of having the' academy relo
cated near that town, and were de
termined to hold the Institution In
that vicinity if possible. The ques
tion was debated at length In com
mittees and in the afternoon the
problem presented to the entire
delation for a vote, and Suther
lin won by 25 votes.
As soon as the deeds have been
made to the property and posses
sion secured, the Adventist people
will bin to improve the place In
preparation for the opening of
school In September. It will be nec
essary to erect a boys' dormitory
and an administration building, as
well as a building for class rooms,
a.HHembly hall and general school
activities.
Th St. John residence on the
place will answer very nicely. It Is
stated for a girl's dormitory. The
kitchen and dining rooms will have
to be provided for in the new
buildings.

conference presidt-nt, is expected to
arrive from Washington this week,
and the executive will then organ1

Forest Lodge, tho new academy
location Is a picturesque spot on
tlm southern slope of the hill over
looking the valley, and the place
will make an idea, home for tbe
denomination school to bo built up
there. The orchard will furnish op
portunity for severul of the young
men students to work their way If
they desire, ami other industrial
features will be inaugurated to
give employment to students in
other lines.

The British balloon Elsie, partic
pant la the Gordon Bennett cup
race, was destroyed in landing
today when its guide rope caught
on a moving freight train, crashing
the balloon on the tracks. The
pilot was unhurt, but a passenger
was slightly injured.

France, 17 miles from Dieppe.
Four other balloons, the Clampl

Spanish, and an unnamed balloon
piloted by the Spanish captain

France safely. ,
The start was made yesterday
and it took five hours to get the
great gas bags away.
