H. BAILEY SHOWING
NEW VARIETY CHERRY I
t NEW TODAY t
Three years ago the Bureau of i, ., ...

C tit a Hinall cherry tree to Dr. I . est court M.. uates.
EXI'KHIKNCEU waitress wanted
at The Terminal Cafe at one.
mv. ii. isailey, suggesting that he
test out the variety, which was
suld to have originally come from
Miain, aa it might be adapted to
this locality. 'I hla suggestion was
followed. Dr. Ilailey grafted the
little tree on a wild cherry, and
this season the tree fruited for the
flrnt time. The cherries, resembling
Itoyal Ann or Centennial, is ripen
ing now. While not so large as
either of above varieties, its unu
sual earliiie.sH makes it desirable.
The new variety Is HWeet like the
Centennial, very firm, and will un
doubtedly prove a good shipper for
lhat reason. ComiiiK on very early.
Ii, will prove a good commercial
variety for this seci ion, as it can
be shipped two to four weeks ear
lier than most any other of the
sweet sorts grown.
