' KLAMATH PALLS. Ore., May 15
For the second time within a
month. Mayor Fred R. Onddard
; yesterday vetoed a eouncllmanic
i resolution which sought to give the
1 Strahorn railroad an exclusive
franchise to cross Sixth Street.
'The mayor declared that he would
never sl:n a resolution which
would tend to permit one railroad
'to "bottie up" the entrance to the
Scity. He also urged the city not
I to give the Strnhorn line any per
Imits or easements of any kind un
jtil the city's $300,000 interest in
i the road should be protected
I against a "bankruptcy sale" or any
other sale of the Strahorn road.
Coincident with this executive
veto, it hecame known that Hill
line surveyors are planning to lo
cate a line across upper Klamath
Lake, which would put the new
road nearly four miles from Klam
ath Falls if such a rome were
taken. It is believed hero that this
line is being surveyed to protect
the Hill lines in the event that
Klamath Fal's does not give it a
feasible entry Into the city.
