In May, 1915 we opened the doors of
our new (tore in Roseburg. Tho only
a small store, ours was a new kind of
store variety store- store of gen
eral merchandise retailing at popular
prices. We carried goods at 5 to 25c
and up as distinguished from the 5-10-15c
stores of those days.
We believed we could be of real serv
ice to our customers by collecting into
one store the lower-priced popular sell
ing items of all kinds of merchandise, and
specializing in those lines.
As the people came to know of our
service we found our business increasing
until today our stocks are 10 times as
large as what we opened with 10 years
ago.
We have tried always to have a good
variety of merchandise of good values
and always to maintain our store and our
service that it be a credit to the com
munity. We believe our success in these ten
years can mean only that we have given
real value and been of real service to this
community.
And we wish to thank our thousands
of customers for their kindly and liberal
patronage and to assure you of our con
tinued effort to serve you well.
At various times during this month we
will call to your attention various anni
versary specials from our regular stocks.
These we hope will tend to strengthen
the bonds of friendship of our old cus
tomers and we hope will bring many new
people to know our store.
