Assembly Held At High School
At an assembly, held this morn
ing at 11 o'clock in the auditorium
of the hlyh school, the sophomore
class members presented a short
play representing fire prevention,
in which a careless camper Is tried
for destruction of national forests.
The play was very interestingly
presented and was enjoyed by the
students. Following this the Soph
omore orchestra, composed of five
pieces, gave three musical selec
tions. "Jade." "All Alone," and
"China Girl."

G. D. Randolph and J. D. Hudson
arrested yesterday on charges of
violating the state liquor laws,
were fined, late yesterday evening.
Randolph, who was charged with
operating a still on the Dehnke
place, where he has been residing
north east of the city, was fined
$500 and given 30 days In jail,
when be entered a plea of guilty
before Justice of the Peace George
Jones. Hudson also entered a plea
of guilty to possession of liquor,
and was fined $200. Neither man
was able to pay his fine, and both
are confined to the county Jail.
They will be placed on (he county
road gang within a few days, and
at present are busy Improving the
court yard grounds.

weather and jail breaks some

seemed to be the case here yester
day, the warmest day of the year,
when Krank Parchen and Harry M.
Zack ran from the Jail when the
door was opened to admit another
prisoner. It was revealed today.
Zack was soon captured by John
Macy, police captain, but Part-lion
got away. Roth men were serving
on liquor charges.
