which combines black velvet and
ermine with lovely results, A fea

large sleeve, fashioned after the
sleeve of the peasant blouse and
elaborately appllqued ln a manner
which gives the Impression of
peasant embroidery.
The collar, which Is high and
rolling. Is trimmed with bands of
white ermine. And H Is this man
ner of Introducing fur In original
(ouches which makes the newer
gowns and wraps so successful In
their loveliness. Gowns which com
from Paris, where all things ne
and original hall from, are showinf
a distinct tendency to Introduct
black and white aa a leading com
bination 'for the evening wrap oi
gown. IHack velvet or satin, treat
ed in a newer manner, with ermine
for a trimming is much used.
Gowns which boast ermine trim
ming on the collar, or on thi
sleeves, which are frequently long
and banded in ermine down their
entire length are much seen. Scarfs
and capes of ermine achieve I
smart trimming as well as a com

The afternoon gown, which boasu

mode, a Jumper, Is frequently trim

cuff.
The evening dress of sll white
which relies upon the tails of er
