HAND DEFEATS PILING
COTTAC.K tlKOVK. Ore., April 15
Ralph Hand, local mat flash,
came near losing a fast and thrill
ing wrestling match here last night
to Frank Pilling of Pendleton, who
outweighed him six pounds, but
stageit a brilliant comeback when
lie saw his chance anil clamped on
a double toehold for the third and
deciding fall.
Piling took the first fall in 21
minutes with a stopper hold, ship
ped on so fast that Hum! couldn't
quit quick enough. T he local boy
took the second In 11 minutes
with a wristlock. punishing the
Pendleton man severely.
Then came a series of headlncks
administered by Pilling In fine and
lust style. Five straight headlocks
were slapped on the local mat man.
who fought them off. When Pill
Ing tried the sixth he was over
anxious, went by Hand and rill.
Willi Hand on top of him, grabbing
both feet. Pilling was helpless, so
the referee stopped tile bout. The
climax was quite exciting.
