Si:COXD TKOOV NEWS.
Our meeting this week, was
held at the Baptist church at 7: 15
p. m. The business session was
short and Bweet for the reason
that we had a treat in store and
wanted ub much time to enjoy
that treat as possible.
Dr. l)e Lapp was the treat of
the evening. He gave us a very
interesting lecture on first aid.
As he talked about fractures, he
demonstrated upon Mar Heymars,
who proved a very impatient pa
tient. The doctor showed us how
to apply splints and bandages.
Had burns also had a pluce of
Importance in the lecture. Their
prevention, causes of fires and
burns, and treatments were dis
cussed to considerable length.
The scouts asked many qu-estious
concerning treatments for the
various things which happen' un
expectedly and demanding first
aid. As a troop, we take this op
portunity to thank Dr. I)e Lapp
lor his of forts in helping us to
"He Prepared."
Next Monday evening we have
planned initiation ceremonies for
some of our fortunate brother
scouts. Sten Lobek, Ira Hyrd and
Tom McDowell form the commit
tee iu charge. Remember fellows,
don't bring visitors for this meet
ing (we mean visitors under eigh
teen) because if you do they could
not see the ceremony anyway.
Well, last Saturday morning it
was raining, so the hike which
we had planned, did not material
lire. It Is hoped that the weather
will be nice this Saturday, so we
can sure go. He at the swinging
bridge at 8:30 in the morning
and bring anything you want to
eat, preferably something you will
have to cook. Mr. Hrittou will
have charge of the hike and re
quests that each scout comu pre
pared Jo take a tost.
Some joke, second troop. Yes,
we are ruther a small troop, and
in a way your little willy saying
nearly hits the nuil on the head
we do pull as one each of us is
working for our troop. No, we
are not offended.
FOl'HTII TltI NKWS
The second troop is springing
a good joke alright for we are
not a very large troop, in iuci a good many boys to swim uud
has not beeu decided upon yet,
but that is not for us to worry
over now. The-thing that con

as soon as possible. Just us soon
as the site hus been chosen and
the program decided upon you
will be furnished a list of things
that you will need. Auyway, let s
be ready.
