Wherever ydu go the number of new
good Maxwells in the hands of contented
owners is si common sight. The car's pop

for the facts that substantiate them are in
evidence everywhere.
What makes one car so obviously favor

there must be factors in its performance, .
there must be exceptional dependability
and economy, to commend it so heartily
to the buyer.
Let's see what you get out of the new good

of four-cylinder results and they can be
found combined in no other four. They
are: 58 miles an hour, 5 to 25 miles in 8 sec
onds and 25 miles to a gallon of gasoline.
Then there are, in addition, rklingquali
ties you have never before experienced in
a car of this class. The car rides and drives
so easily and comfortably you can remain
at the wheel all day without fatigue.
Summed up, it is really a question of

can be quickly demonstrated if you will
give us the opportunity. -

Information, received from the
Maxwell factory at Detroit, deals
with the experience of Individual
owners. One rather Interesting
catf Is that of A. 11. Cary. foreign
broker and forwarding agent of
Savannah, Ga.. with his 1121 Max
well touring car.
It seems that be turned In bis
old machine and purchased one
of the new Chrysler-engineered
Maxwells from the Savannah
dealer.
"Cary bad kept a eomplete rec
ord of every expenditure, with the
result that he produced some
rather startling figures," explain
ed Mr. Michael. "Operating Costs
for 23,742 miles over a period of
two years and seven,monthe were
6.04 cents per mile. And this in
cluded entire first cost of the car
and accessories, as well as insur
ance, driving and state licenses
over three years, gasoline, tires,
storage and washing, entire ser
vice, repair and labor costs and
depreciation.
"Figures released by engineer
ing experts In Washington, D. C,
showed an average national mini
mum operating expense, of auto
mobiles of all makes, of 7s cents
per mile.
"A Government mall carrier
covering a route daily out of
Stockton, shows actual figures of
less than 6 cents per mile for two
years constant running In bis
Maxv-ell. Several of the big oil
companies that keep a particul

costs, show figures of approxim
ately 6 s cents per mile, as Max
well fleet averages.
"In figures operating costs,
many owners neglect to take one
important factor into considera
tion and that factor Is deprecia
tion. If a car depreciates or loses
Its resale value rapidly, the oper

is therefore advisable to consider
resale value in figuring operating
costs."
Watklns declared, manages at tue
same time to effectually exclude
from his range of vision all on
coming locomotives and speeding
automobiles at railroad grais
crossings and highway and street
.alersecilona.
Watklns said that stickers on
the windshield of a motor vehicle
are not only dangerous to the oc
cupants of the car, but also to
drivers of other cars, for a sec
ond lost In turning the head to
gel a clearer view of a aituatiou
may be just sufficient to cause a
serious collision. He said thit
the man who blocks part of Ills

bile. Is risking not only bis own
life, but the lives of other people,
and that this amendment to the
motor vehicle laws proposed by
the automobile association will do
away with this perceptible hazard
to publio safety.
