was broken up whn the father was

time the family of thirteen. was
living in a one-room bouse In North

daughter for a criminal opera
tion, ami was tried at Eugene lor
bis relation with his daughter, and
was sent to the penitentiary, lie
was later released under the state

The ciiildren were placed w ith
the Uoy and (Jirls Aid Society and
Mrs. Crowe later divorced her hus
band and was remarried.
Lester Crowe, the oldest boy, Is
now married and residing in Port
land and has been seeking for some1
time to locate the other 11 ciiild
ren. All were placed in charitable
organizations later to be adopted
out or cared for in private miues.

members of the family except one
child, Margaret, who is now be
tween ten and eleven years of age.
Sne was adopted out by the Hoys
and (Jirls Aid Society and according
to Miss I'itchlord, the county Juv
enile olficer, who was In charge of
the case here, was given an excel
lent home w here she was happy
and contented and well cared tor.
