As a result of baggage car troub
le on Shasta 12. that train did not
arrive here yesterday until 6:55,
two hours late. The ear run hot
near Davis, California, causing the
loss of time.

Fred Bell and family, of Port
land, who have been visiting Mrs.
Bell's relatives In Los Angeles,
are expected to arrive this evening.
They are motoring from the south
and will visit until Sunday with
Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Bell, before go
ing on to their home.

Mr. and Mrs. A. K. Moorehouse
and J. P. Williams are here from
Portland, and will spend the re
mainder of the week in Roseburg
on business. Mr. Moorehouse and
Mr. Williams are transmission en
gineers from the Portland office of
the Pacific Telephone and Tele
graph company, and will be here to
attend the exchange meetings In
Roseburg and vicinity this week.
Mr. Williams and Mr. Moorehouse
have a number of friends here,
having visited Roseburg before. Mr.
Williams was the first wire chief
of the local exchange In 1910.
