Huntley, collector of in ternal revenue, annouced today that under Instructions from the internal revenue bureau these re turns would tie received at this office on Monday, March 16, until midnight. . Out-of-town taxpayers must see that their returns are mailed not later than March 16 in order to escape penalties for delinquency. . In order better to take care of the last minute rush, Collector Huntley's office in the custom bouse in this city will remain open until 9 p. m., Friday and Saturday, March 13 and 14. Collector Huntley also issued a r ii statement calling the attention of taxpayers to the fact that re guests for extension of time for filing returns cannot be approved or granted by tbis office. All such requests must be sent to the Commissioner of Internal Reve nue, Washington, D. C, prior to March 15, and failure to obtain approval will constitute delin quency In making return. HOMESTEADER IS 1 FOUND IN CABIN ILL WITH PNEUMONIA Charles Irwin, aged 65 years, a homesteader on Honey creek, was found yesterday afternoon In his cabin suffering from a severe case of pneumonia. lie had been there for a week alone, apparently un conscious much of the time. He was In a terribly weakened condi tion but It Is believed that he will recover. Irwin went in to his homestead about 7 mile op Honey creek, a week ago Tuesday, telling his neighbors that he would return In one week. He was going In to visit his line of traps and do necessary work at the cabin. When he failed to appear, one of his friends went in search of him. and yesterday morning found him, in uoa very lit. He became drenched on the, trail going In to his cabin and became chilled. He took a severe cold, and It immediately went into pneumonia. Apparently he was without food or fire tor three or four days and was unconscious as he had last all track of time. He had prepared a poultice and placed it on his chest, which undoubtedly saved his life. Dr. Belt, the county physician was called yesterday, and was re quired to make the trip in from Rock Creek on horseback, return ing home at 1 a. m. today. He gave Mr. Irwin such remedies as were heeded to benefit his condition, but It appears that the crisis has passed and that the man will now recover. Supplies are being pack-! ed in today, and Irwin will have ' company until he recovers euf-l ticlently to care for himself. Effective.
