who on Wednesday 'granted Mrs.
Evelyn Naegle Parker an "Enoch
Arden" decrue of divorce from Or.
llerschel c. Parker, explorer and
former Columbia University pro
fessor said today that the presence
of Dr. Varker la Portland, Oregon,
would not snect the aecree.
Justice Dike said he believed
Mrs. Parker could have the decree
set aside if she wished, but that
Dr. Parker could take.no such, ac
tion. "His wife and two cbljdren are
In need of hit support," Tald Jus
tice Dike,, "and I hope that some
way may be found to get It for
them."
Mrs. Parker's lawyer said' that
she would not seek to b&ve the de
cree annulled.
' "But if this Is Professor Park
er," added the attorney, "I will
seek to have him indicted' lor
abandonment. Five years ago he
was ordered by the court to pay
his wife 100 a week separation
allowance. He has not paid one
cent He is in arrears about
