L, Wilson, notorious ex-minister and admitted bandit, thai he had beea
approached by Jack Elerlck, who said he knew a wealthy New Yortc
divorcee, Mrs. Charlotte King Palmer, who waa "thrilling Broadway
wlth her lavish display of Jewelry, and that he, Elerlck and Charle
Stahl, burglarized Mrs. King's home and stole 320.000 worth of Jewels,
may clear up other unsolved robberies of women who make ostentations
shows of their Jewels In New York's cafes. Mrs, Irene Schoellkopf.
wife of Hugh Schoellkopf, Buffalo millionaire, waa robbed of priceless
gems In the same fashion, but the tlleves were apprebendsd and the
Jewels recovered. Mme. Edith Uobe, wealthy New York modiste, waa
robbed In the same way, and that robbery was never solved. Wilson,
who la now serving a life sentence In San Quentln, Cnl, prison, ad
mitted Mrs. Palmer's ankle was broken In her fight with the thieves.
