A circular Issued by the insur
gents appeals to the population in
the following words:
"Your Caliph awaits you. no
Mohammedanism is possible with
out Calpigate. The present gov
ernment is opposed to religion."
The -Kurdish rebels are reported
to have proclaimed Prince Selim,
son of the former Sultan Abdul
Hamld, as King of Kurdistan.
Prince Selim may be the "Caliph
referred to ill the circular issued
by the insurgents.
